Wellington Point Farm is one of the very few remaining operational market garden farms in Redland City. Since the 1800’s until the late 1900’s, fruit and vegetable growing was the dominant activity in the Redlands which was widely recognised and celebrated as “Brisbane’s Salad Bowl”. They have a recently opened café that sells wonderful food and coffee and also a farm shop selling local produce.

Indigiscapes in Capalaba has some lovely walks and another beautiful café! I have been lucky enough to see wild snakes, koalas and wallabies whilst walking with my family.

Treat the family to fish and chips from the Lighthouse Restaurant located at Cleveland Point - the best time of day is definitely at sunset. There is a takeaway window for quick and easy service. They also sell lovely coffee and cake in the restaurant so I also highly recommend going during the day too. The restaurant sits over the water with views stretching over Moreton Bay over to Straddie.

For a taste of England, I recommend getting fish and chips from Chumley Warners, Birkdale. My family and I will then take them to Wellington Point Recreation Reserve and eat while watching the sunsets. While there, at low tide you can do the walk to King Island.

If you're a UK ex-pat and you miss your home comforts, you can also purchase a number of British items from their shop including chocolate, crisps, sauces, tea bags and all other delicious English items,
I love a good curry and my favourite places for Indian food are Little Indian Palace, Cleveland; Jaipur Palace, Wellington Point and Punjab Curry Club, Wellington Point.

There are the beaches in Raby Bay on Masthead Drive but the one I go to is the other end of Raby Bay. Search “Raby Bay Boulevard Park - Carpark” for driving directions. There is a lovely walk along the waterfront with a great beach and kids play park. My kids and I have seen numerous sharks, turtles and rays when walking.
Raby Bay Harbour has monthly twilight markets. Have a look at the following link for more information.

Cleveland also has farmer's markets every Sunday on Bloomfield St. They close down the road for all the stalls. Have a look at the following link for more information.

Go and explore our local islands and get the ferry from Victoria Point to Coochiemudlo Island. You can easily walk around the island. There is a café and also a beach bar which does pub food and cold beer. It’s a beautiful, relaxing little place. I thoroughly recommend going to Straddie for a relaxing day trip away from the hustle and bustle of the mainland. See here for ferry details:

We can't forget about beautiful Straddie. It’s so easy to get to and such a beautiful place. There is a bus on the island but for my first trip over we had help from Dave who owns Straddie Kingfisher Tours. He picked us up from the Ferry and spent the morning showing us around. He gave us a great overview of the island and knew all the secret local spots. Having a day tour with Dave has given us the confidence to now go back by ourselves. Dave – 0409 123 586.

You can get the free bus from Cleveland train station which takes you to the ferry terminal. There are 2 companies who run ferries. One is passenger only and the other is car and passenger. Both go into Dunwich but in different parts. The car and passenger is:
https://www.sealinkseq.com.au/
The passenger ferry is Stradbroke Flyer
https://flyer.com.au/.
Sealink comes into main Dunwich where Stradbroke Brewery has just recently opened. The main beach to visit is Cylinder Beach and that is where most of the accommodation can be found.
Sirromet Winery, Mount Cotton offers a gorgeous day out with wine tastings, picnic hampers, winery tours, and several dining and accommodation options, this really is an unforgettable experience.
